Got Fired? How to Deal and What to Do
被炒好痛。毕竟,它不会被炒鱿鱼,如果它是一件容易的事情处理。那么,这可怕的事情发生时,你应该怎么做?
Getting fired really hurts. After all, it wouldn t be called getting fired if it was an easy thing to handle. So what should you do when this dreadful thing happens? Here are some tips: References Although it seems crazy, asking for your boss s reference can be the best thing to do. Negotiate with your supervisor and ask him for a decent reference that you can use for your next applications. He would most likely be glad to do so. You need your employer s reference so that you can have a weapon against any questions that may be raised about why you left your job. Approach other supervisors in your company for other references. You should not necessarily ask for a written reference, but you can instead ask for permission to write their names in the reference section of your resume. How Not to Get Fired: Quit! If you feel that you ll be getting fired soon, then act accordingly. Submit your resignation letter. This gives you a good employment record, instead of having to tell your future employer that you were sacked in your previous job. If you feel that you ll be getting fired soon, it may be an indication that you are not happy with your job anymore, making resignation the most logical step for your career. As you resign, already look for another job. Be active in job search so that when you resign, it would not take long before you get a new one. Let your boss know. After getting positive responses from some companies that you applied for, let your boss know of your plans, explaining that you are not happy anymore. He would most likely be relieved that he s lifted the burden of having to fire you. Talking It out Instead of going to your boss s office to resign, also try talking with him and just opening up about your grievances. He might not be aware of the factors that may be affecting your performance in the office, and talking with him might prompt him to even help you adjust. You might even be given the opportunities that you desire, through a promotion. Who knows, you might be promoted from a manager job to a director job. If your boss really values your contribution to the company, then he would gladly help you. Otherwise, you would know that leaving the company is for your best interest. Handling Interviews after Getting Fired If the inevitable happens and you actually do get fired, make sure that you give honest answers to your interviewer. They will not judge you, but they will be interested in knowing the reasons. Instead of saying that your company did not give you any ounce of respect, refrain from bad mouthing them, or your boss. Doing so will only convince the interviewer that you indeed needed to be fired and that the company you are applying in does not need someone like you. 管理新知 您可能感兴趣的文章 HR微语—提升人脉价值的奥秘 2012-06-04 你可以不成功,但不能不成长!
